In qualifying rounds Max Verstappen grabs pole from Lewis Hamilton while Sergio Perez starts in third. Valtteri Bottas qualified for fourth but due to taking on new ICE has been taking the five-place grid drop sending him to P9 at the starting grid. Stroll, Latifi, Raikkonen, Schumacher, Mazepin are eliminated in Q1 while Ocon, Vettel, Giovinazzi, Alonso and Russell are eliminated in Q2.
